Danny Garcia to return against TBA on Jan 25

On Saturday’s Showtime telecast, it was announced that former two-division world champion Danny Garcia would return to the ring on Showtime next month. “January 25, I’m back at Barclays Center, my home away from home,” Garcia said. “It’s a great atmosphere. Every time I’m here, I get the jitters, so I just can’t wait to be back. I’ve been in the gym for a month. I’m already ready. I don’t know who my opponent is, but whoever they put in front of me, I’m ready to get it on…thank God (Errol) Spence is doing good. I hear that he’s recovering well. I was really looking forward to fighting him but maybe he could be next after January 25. Pac-Man (Manny Pacquiao) or Spence, that’s who we want. 2020 is going to be a big year for me.”

    • I do not mind watching Garcia fight, but putting up with his father’s antics over racial comments and his loud mouth that’s enough to tune out from even watching any of his fights.

    • Mike, since he has already been training for a month, he doesn’t want to let his opponent know that way the tab doesn’t have enough time to train.

    • I have a feeling it will be One of these Fighters, Ugas, Vergil Ortiz, Lipinets or Besputin.

  • With Jesse Vargas saying he is up at 154, and Danny Garcia saying nothing of Terence Crawford, it looks like the only names for Crawford to look at in his ratings in early 2020 (if he wins his mandatory) are:
    4 Segey Lipinets (Int-Cont)
    5 Vergil Ortiz, Jr.
    6 Mikka Shonena (WBO Africa)
    7 Custio Clayton (WBO International)
    8 Mikael Zewski (NABO)
    9 Michael McKinson (WBO Europe)
    10 Kudratillo Abdukakhorov
winner of 13 Freddy Kiwitt vs 14 Luther Clay (WBO Global)
