  • who are the people that say Chavez Jr. cannot do anything in boxing if he is dedicated? At 33½, he is still good. Nothing has been so special about his career after the Sergio Martinez fight. Chavez senior at the age Chavez Jr is now was fighting some young Elvis Presley looking fighter named Scott Walker on HBO. Chavez may be just 1 of 2 Mexican fighters trying to be rated up towards the top at 175. The WBO contenders at 175 maybe where Chavez jr wants to look, but I doubt Chavez Jr wants to fight Kovalev. Blake Caparello may be a good test for Chavez Jr.

    • The Aussie has no power but he would box Junior’s head off. Chavez said he wanted a world title shot again and he would literally get killed by any of the title holders at light heavyweight. Maybe he can get the winner of the upcoming Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev fight so we never have to hear about him again because he will be retired.

    • He’s got no heart and he’s a quitter. He quit against Andrzej Fonfara after he was dropped. Go ahead, like my comment;)

  • Lol, this was supposed to be a super middleweight contest. if Junior can only squeeze down to light heavyweight then he has no chance at a successful career on the world level. I would actually favor Tommy karpency to beat Junior at this stage.

    • I don’t know how he’s making it to 168. he’s not carrying much body fat at 175, which is insane considering he started his career at 130. I know he was young at the time, but that amount of muscle growth is insane.

    • PS, I’m not saying you’re wrong either. He’s been a weight bully much of his career, and his size advantage is what won him a lot of fights. Fonfara muscled him, and he had little to offer.

  • 175 lbs huh? And how much did he ACTUALLY weigh at fight time? 200 + pounds? He would be funny if he gets a job as a stand up comedian, i’m certain the audience will laugh at him whatever he has to say. A kid who actually had talent and threw it away.
