Former two-time heavyweight champion of the world Shannon Briggs(60-6-1, 53 KOs) was a special guest of the Brooklyn Nets Monday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Briggs, who now resides in South Florida was born and raised in Brooklyn was in town visiting. He was joined courtside by local favorite heavyweight unbeaten contender Adam Kownacki. A highlight reel of Briggs’ best Knockouts were shown on the Jumbotron.
It was the first Nets game Briggs has attended and one he won’t soon forget. ” A special thank you to Mandy Gutmann(Senior Vice President of Communications Brooklyn Nets), the entire Brooklyn Nets organization, and the Barclays Center. I had a wonderful time and I hope to return again for another Nets game,” said Briggs.
*Fightnews.com® had previously reported that Briggs will make his bare-knuckle fighting debut in May which is still in play. It is now reported that he will also begin to train Social media star Charles “Damn Wide Neck” McDowell for his pro boxing debut. McDowell has become an instant internet sensation from many views of his extremely large neck. He has played in a celebrity basketball game with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and has more than a million Instagram followers.
Happy see to see Briggs get recognition in his home state. Wonder why he spending time with these celebrity boxers so much. I guess its the quickest come-up for a beginning boxer. Wide neck smokes, drinks, and gets arrested way too much – to half-way take seriously.
