The 4th Annual Chicago Boxers Reunion was held on Friday night at the Windy City Gym in downtown Chicago. The event, which is put on by Vince “Rock” Hudson (founder of the Chicago Boxing Brotherhood), attracted future Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame candidates and prominent names in Chicago boxing.
Among those in attendance were boxers Sugar Ray Seales, Montell Griffin, David Diaz, Leroy Murphy, Alfonso Ratliff, Luke Capuano, Joey Ruiz, Luis Mateo and Bernard Hightower.
Most of the introductions and speaking were done by Al Bernstein and Steve Corbo.
Also on hand were former boxer, referee and current IBF board member Pete Podgorski, former boxer and referee Tim Adams, trainers John Nocita, Mike Joyce and Sam Colonna, Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame board member Pete Hoffman, and mayoral candidate Jerry Joyce Jr., brother of Mike Joyce and son of former politician Jeremiah Joyce (a good friend of original Mayor Daley in Chicago).
