Fury gets through exhibition with no cuts

WBO #1 heavyweight contender Hughie Fury boxed a six round exhibition with journeyman Kamil Sokolowski (4-10-2, 1 KO) on Saturday night at the Copper Box Arena in London. The boxers didn’t wear headgear. As expected, Fury was in command the whole time and didn’t sustain any noticeable injuries. The 22-year-old Fury hadn’t seen action since April 2016 and wanted to get some ring time. The bout was changed to exhibition status because the WBO wouldn’t approve a tune-up fight for Fury.

WBO champion Joseph Parker watched Fury from ringside and the fighters did have a quick, friendly chat. They will meet again on Tuesday at a press conference in Manchester to kick off promotion for their September 23rd clash at the Manchester Arena.

In the main official boxing match, British welterweight champion Bradley Skeete (27-1, 12 KOs), who called out Manny Pacquiao recently, outpointed Dale Evans (13-4-2, 4 KOs) over twelve rounds.
