IBF junior bantamweight world champion Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas (25-1-1, 17 KOs) successfully defended his 122lb title with a seventh round TKO over top-rated contender Teiru Kinoshita (25-2-1, 8 KOs) at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on Sunday morning (Saturday night in the USA). A body shot put Kinoshita on the deck in round seven and the bout was waved off. Time was 1:53. Kinoshita fought most of the fight with a bad cut over his right eye, ruled to be caused by a punch in round two.

“I was happy with the result though the early ending was an unexpected bonus,” stated Ancajas afterward. “It was not an easy fight. My opponent was strong. I’m comfortable at this weight and would like to make a few more title defenses.”
